Sustainable Construction
The Wood-framing construction system is one of the most sustainable methods currently available, where the primary resource is wood. This material, in addition to being renewable, can capture significant amounts of carbon in the atmosphere, sequestering it within its cellular structure. As a result, the carbon dioxide generated during its processing and construction is offset –resulting in a neutral or even negative carbon footprint.
Wood is a great thermal insulator. It is 15 times better as a thermal insulator than cement, reducing heating and air conditioning consumption in homes. At the same time, construction times are significantly shorter in relation to the traditional system, thus reducing energy consumption during the process. On the other hand, less waste is generated, since with the wood-framing construction system the material is optimized, construction sites are cleaner and given that it is a type of dry construction, water consumption is reduced
